10 Day Gorilla and Chimpanzee experience and Big5 Experience

This 10 days Gorilla and Chimpanzee experience covers Murchison falls national park, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable and finally Kibale national park. Murchison falls national park, located in the Western part of the country and is a home to over 78 species. Murchison national park is Uganda’s largest national park and here visitors are able to enjoy different experiences such as Game drives, Boat safaris on the base of the falls and other activities.

Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda with attractions such as Kazinga channel, Chimpanzees at Kyambura gorge, Maramagambo forest, Crater lakes, Blue lakes, Lake Edward and Lake George plus several bird species.

Bwindi impenetrable national park which is a home to almost half of the remaining gorillas on earth and gives visitor an opportunity to do gorilla trekking and visit the Batwa cultural villages.

Day 1:     Transfer from Entebbe Airport to Lake Victoria Hotel 

You will have a meet and greet with our professional guide at the airport who will transfer you to Lake view hotel for your dinner and overnight stay. Our guide will brief you about your tour (the parks that you will visit, experiences in the parks that you are about to visit, travelling time, and anything else that you are interested in knowing)

Day 2; Pick up from the Hotel and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After having your breakfast, you will be picked by our guide to embark on your journey to Murchison falls national park. This park is ranked the biggest /largest park in Uganda with highlights such as Budongo forest, Ziwa rhino sanctuary, aquatic animals such as hippos and crocodiles, plus other mammals such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants etc. The park is also blessed with a variety of bird species such as shoe bill, white thigh horn bill and others. On your journey to Murchison, you will branch off at Ziwa rhino sanctuary to enjoy the Big 5 animals namely buffaloes, rhinos, elephants, lions and leopards. From there, you will proceed to Masindi town for your lunch and then proceed to Murchison falls national park, check in at Paara safari lodge or Choobe safari lodge for your dinner and overnight stay

Day 3: Full Day at Murchison Falls National Park

After your breakfast, you will be picked by our guide from your lodge for a game drive to explore  the largest national park from where you will be able to see animals such as elephants, giraffe, lions, buffaloes. You will also be able to see different bird species such as the shoe bills, eagles, and others. You will then be brought back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. You will be picked in the evening for a sunset boat cruise from where you will be able to see aquatic animals like hippos and crocodiles, not forgetting the water birds. You will then be brought back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 4; Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park

After having an early breakfast, you will be picked by our guide and be transferred to Kibale national park for another wonderful experience. The drive is a beautiful one as you pass through hills full of tea plantations creating a green scenery. Kibale national park is popularly known for its primates such as chimpanzees, Columbus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, not forgetting different bird species plus crater lakes. On arrival, you will check in at Kyaninga lodge with an alternate accommodation of Crater safari lodge for lunch and rest of the day relaxation.

Day5: Full Day in Kibale National Park

You will have an early breakfast and then be picked by our guide from your lodge to the park headquarters for briefing about Chimpanzee trekking. You will then be led by a professional ranger /guide into the forest to trek the chimpanzees. With the help of the guide, you will be able to track the chimpanzees from a closer range. This process takes about 2-3 hours. You will then be brought back to your lodge for lunch. In the evening, you will be picked from your lodge for  Bigodi  swamp walk. Bigodi wetland sanctuary is a very beautiful area found in Magombe swamp which is recognized for inhabiting primates such as the black and white monkeys, baboons and other monkey species. The swamp is also a home for bird species like grand blue turaco. After this amazing walk, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 6: Transfer from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After having an early breakfast, you will exit Kibale and travel to Queen Elizabeth national park. Queen Elizabeth national park is ranked the second largest national park in Uganda, located at the base of Rwenzori  mountain range, just adjacent to lake Edward and lake George with attractions such as Kyambura Gorge, Maramagambo forest, crater lakes, blue lakes, Kazinga channel, primates such as chimpanzees though they are very few , not forgetting the tree climbing lions. You will reach Queen Elizabeth in the afternoon, check in at Mweya safari lodge with an alternate at Kyambura gorge lodge for lunch and relaxation. You will be picked in the evening for a boat ride along k

Kazinga channel to be able to see aquatic animals such as hippos and crocodiles plus bird species at the water shores. You will then be brought back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Full Day in Queen Elizabeth National Park 

After your breakfast, you will be picked for a morning game drive in the park along Kasenyi plains from where you will be able to track animals such as lions, leopards, elephants, water bucks, bush bucks, Uganda kobs, cape buffaloes, etc. You will then be transferred back to your lodge for lunch. In the late afternoon, you will be picked to go for the explosion crater drive. This drive is basically sightseeing with a beautiful view of the breath taking scenery in and around the park’ There are a lot of animals to see during the drive such as cape buffaloes and elephants. After the drive, you will be brought back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Travel to the southern part of the park (Ishahsa sector)

After having your breakfast, you will set off for a beautiful game viewing experience in the Ishasha area of the park popularly known for its tree climbing lions. The chances of viewing these tree climbing lions are very high unless they are in the grassland hunting for their prey. Other animals expected to be spotted include the Uganda kobs, elephants and cape buffaloes. Please don’t forget to pack your lunch from your previous lodge which you will eat from the jungle. After this amazing experience, you will proceed to check in at Ishasha jungle lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Day experience of Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your breakfast, you will be picked from your lodge for a balloon safari. This safari takes place in the morning hours when the animals are still in their den before they go to hunt for prey. Balloon safari is a luxurious experience in which tourists are able to watch animals from the sky and on a closer range. After this beautiful experience, you will be brought back to your lodge for lunch and rest of the day relaxation.

 

Day 10: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth to Entebbe Airport.

You will have an early breakfast and then set off from Queen back to Kampala or Entebbe airport for your flight and this marks the end of your safari.
