This primates safari is done in Semuliki forest reserve which was created in 1932 and upgraded to the status of a park in 1993. The park is located in Western Uganda, Bundibujo area. It is the only tract of true lowland tropical forest in East Africa.

The park inhabits about 441 bird species and over 53 mammals such as; Forest elephants, buffaloes, bush babies, Uganda kobs, water bucks, black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, red vervet mangabey and others. The attractions in Semuliki national park include; falls, game viewing, hot springs, Lake Albert, chimps and Batwa pygmies. And the activities are; Game drives, boat trips on Lake Albert, visiting the hot springs, visiting the falls, nature walks, bird viewing and others.

Kibale national park is located in Western Uganda, protecting moist ever green rain forest. The park is famously known for its largest population of chimpanzees and its considered the best place to track chimpanzees on earth. The park harbors over 350 plant species, 71 mammal species 13 primates and 372 bird species. Kibale forest has one of the highest diversity and concentration of primates in Africa thus the best primates safari destination with no doubt. The park is a home of primates such as the black and white colobus, red tailed monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey and others.

Day 1; Arrival and night stay in Kampala

On your arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be welcomed by our professional guide who will transfer you to African hotel in Kampala. He / She will help you check in your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2; Road transfer to Semuliki and Evening game drive

You will have breakfast in the morning and get ready to start on your journey to Semuliki national park. This journey of about 7 hrs. will have a stopover in Kasese town for lunch and then proceed to Semuliki. On your arrival, you will check in at Semuliki safari lodge and then go for an evening game drive to see animals such as elephants, buffaloes, olive baboons, Uganda kobs, and others. From the game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3; Visiting the hot springs and Boat trip

You will start your third day with breakfast and get ready to go and visit the hot springs locally known as the Sempaya hot springs. These hot springs are both male and female in structure and are really amazing. The local population believes that these hot springs do miracles in terms of healing traditional diseases and also bring blessings to those who believe in them. From here, you will go for a boat ride on Lake Albert to relax your mind and also to see several bird species on the lake shores. You will return to your lodge for lunch and then get ready for your journey to Kibale national park. On your arrival at Kibale, you will check in at Kyaninga lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 4; Chimpanzee trekking and Nature walk

You will begin with your breakfast very early so that you are ready to be transferred to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking briefing by 6;00. After the briefing, you will be led by a park ranger or a guide to head into the forest for an opportunity to track out the chimpanzees when they are still in their habitats. The purpose of tracking these chimpanzees as early as possible is for you to find them when they are just waking up or still sleeping so that you are able to see as many as possible. Thou chimpanzees are the most sought-after primates, visitors should also look out for other primates such as the black and white colobus, red tailed colobus and the red cheeked mangabey. After this amazing experience with these unique creatures, you will return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening, you will go for a nature walk in the forest to see bird species and you may also see animals such as the black and white colobus monkeys. You will then return to your lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 5; Road transfer to Entebbe airport.

After having your breakfast from your lodge, you will get ready to start on your journey back to Kampala, have your lunch and then proceed to Entebbe airport for your out bound flight and that will mark the end of this amazing safari.
